How a food & FMCG brief actually runs

The sub-sector decides part of the workflow, but most of it is the same. Whether the role is a multi-skilled engineer in a dairy plant or a HGV Class 1 driver for a refrigerated operator, we follow the same steady process so nothing slips.

1. Sector-specific brief

We come into the briefing call ready. If it is a hygiene-critical role, we know the difference between Level 2 and Level 3 food hygiene, BRC AOP and allergen training. If it is engineering, we know the difference between an electrical-bias and mechanical-bias multi-skilled engineer. We will not waste your call asking the basics.

2. Salary calibration against the local market

Every shortlist is calibrated against current UK food & FMCG salary data plus what we are seeing live across the desk this month. Production salaries shift fast in this sector. If the band looks low for the role, we will tell you before we start, not after the offer is rejected.

3. Vetted, ranked shortlist

Three to six candidates per brief, properly vetted, with our written notes on hygiene training, shift fit, low-temperature comfort and audit-readiness. Right-to-work, references and qualifications are checked before introduction. We rank, we do not just send.

4. Offer and onboarding support

We coordinate the offer, manage counter-offer pressure, line up the start date, and check in at day 7, 30 and 90. That is when you find out if the placement actually worked, and if it did not, our replacement guarantee kicks in.

Sectors we deliberately do not cover

Acute clinical roles, regulated financial services compliance, and executive search above £150k base sit best with sector specialists, so we point those briefs to trusted partner agencies. We will tell you within one call if we are not the right fit.
